Alberto Contessi is a biologist (he was a student of Prof. Giorgio Celli), specializing in phytopathology and an expert in food insects. He currently directs the control and certification sector of the Plant Protection Service of the Emilia-Romagna Region. A beekeeper himself, he has been involved in beekeeping in its organizational, popular, scientific and promotional aspects for over twenty-five years. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of the magazine 'Notiziario dell¹Apicoltore'.
